This course is a fast-paced introduction to
modern and contemporary U.S. poetry, from Dickinson and Whitman to the present.
Participants (who need no prior experience with poetry) will learn how to read
poems that are supposedly “difficult.”

The audio introduction to chapter 9.3 (week 10) of ModPo is now available: click here.
It is also linked to the syllabus page.
As usual, the new videos for the week will be available Saturday night at 11:59 PM eastern time. The new discussion forums will appear then as well.
The writing and submission period for assignment #4 ends a day later - Sunday evening at 11:59 PM eastern time - and at that moment we will switch once again into peer review mode for the entire last week of the course.
If you submitted an assignment, starting Sunday night you should go into the writing assignments module again and write peer reviews for at least four submissions. If you did not submit an assignment, you should wait until the assignments and reviews appear in the discussion forum and then comment additionally on as many as you can.
